my son giggling, seeing Ella run wild, singing while driving, dance parties, climbing mountains, reading to my nephew, new plants, learning, swimming under the stars, cooking, and friends.
favourite sounds include: birds singing, rain falling, waves crashing and keyboard keys typing. i love water and i especially love the ocean. my affinity for movement is decades old, but ever-changing. and i find it so satisfying when words are strung together perfectly. there’s a book beside my bed, way more on my phone, and I’m discovering new podcasts weekly; (currently in my ears are: Run Towards the Danger, A Court of Mist and Fury, Good Inside with Dr. Becky and Financial Feminist). i start every morning with a glass of water and a cup of coffee (which my wonderful husband usually makes for me). and my favourite meal is always Christmas dinner because: stuffing! and because of how much love goes into preparing it.
if i were to escape to the woods for 48 hours alone, i wouldn’t go without my dog, a journal, matches, a good knife, my water bottle, warm blankets, and probably a lot more; my preference would be to be on a sunny beach though, and if that was so, i’d be packing multiple bathing suits too. i believe in something much greater than me, and i feel this force the most when i’m in nature. i believe in teachers. many of them. i also believe our heart knows best. my favourite words at the moment are gentleness and patience and i repeat them to myself often. and i LOVE Saturday mornings… in our home that means fresh baked croissants, a record on the turn table, hot coffee and nowhere to rush off to.
i believe that nature is the best medicine, that growth is uncomfortable but inevitable, that our reality is constantly changing and that there is no such thing as balance (we just accept that things aren’t always evenly distributed and keep moving towards what feels more steady, pressing pause when we need to most.) this is me, today. who are you, really?

You can say yes, and you can say no.
You can speak with confidence, and you can be vulnerable too.
You can have all the answers, or none at all.
And you can feel happy, or sad, or tender, or tough, or any and all of the other feelings you feel.
You can do it.
And, I can too.
A reminder for us all.

Yin yoga is an essential antidote to the “full-on” pace of life we abide by, and a beautiful compliment to dynamic movement and strength practices.
Yin - the feminine, the nurturer, the night - is a means of recalibrating our nervous system and of grounding our physical body. Yin postures are anchored on the floor and held for 2 - 5 minutes. This allows us to yield to the body’s needs and move consciously through her interior landscape.
Yin Yoga can provide a unique lens for entering yoga practice. A good place to start is by exploring the anatomical body and listening to messages of physical sensation. It also elicits the wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Meridian theory to discover the imprint of mental & emotional patterning. Further still, we can attune through the chakra system, in order to observe the energetic layers of our subtler bodies.
So much of our existence requires us to show up outwardly. We learn to observe and define ourselves in a similar way - from the outside.
The practice of yin invites us to know ourselves from the inside.
